The primary reason for Nicki Minaj’s popularity was the late 2010 release of her debut album, Pink Friday. In the early stages of 2011, Nicki Minaj was given her first platinum plaque, as her album was certified platinum.

Nicki Minaj had a rather quiet 2011, as Cash Money and Young Money focused on releases from Lil Wayne, Drake, and Tyga.
