Yesterday, there were several hip hop websites reporting news of Drake leaving his longtime management of Hip Hop Since 1978. The company has managed Kanye West and Drake’s own boss at Young Money, Lil Wayne. Reports from yesterday stated Drake had severed ties with all his management and promotional teams.
However, the updates revealed Drake has not left Hip Hop Since 1978, but he has left another management company. Drake has indeed left his management company at International Creative Management. The reason Drake is cutting back on his team is because he felt as if there were too many hands in his pockets.
Even before he signed his major-label deal, Drake was among the most popular rappers in the game. But, after signing with Young Money and releasing his debut album, Drake ended up becoming one of the biggest rappers in the game. Since that time, everyone, from all aspects of the hip hop industry, have wanted to work with Drake.
