A little over a year ago, Drake released his debut album, Thank Me Later. The album sold over 400,000 copies in its first week. Expectedly, the album debuted on top of the Billboard 200. Before signing with Young Money, Drake was already one of the most-popular mixtape rappers in the game.

It was only months following the release of Thank Me Later before fans were waiting for the release of his second album. Drake announced he would have his second album out before the end of 2011. Now, only a week after the release of Take Care, Drake is preparing his third album, which will be released sometime next year.

Projections for Take Care‘s first week sales were between 600 and 700,000 sales. The official numbers for Take Care have been released. Take Care ended up selling 659,000 copies in its first week, dethroning Mac Miller’s deubt, Blue Slide Park, from the top of the Billboard charts.
