Next week, Mac Miller will make the jump from the mixtape scene into the rap game, with his Blue Slide Park debut album on the way. Mac Miller has been releasing several mixtapes over the past two years. The Pittsburgh rapper is best-known for his “Donald Trump” single, released earlier this year.

Donald Trump, himself, learned of the song and commented on Mac Miller’s future, dubbing him the next Eminem. While many hip hop critics balked at Trump’s comparisons, Mac Miller explained The Donald does not know hip hop. Regardless, the buzz has been used to the advantage of Mac Miller.

Significant buzz has gone into the promotion of Blue Slide Park, as the release date nears. Already, the album has sold 25,000 copies in pre-sales and is expected to continue at this rate, selling 100,000 copies in the first week. For an independent artist, Mac Miller will be doing solid numbers. Following the release of his debut album and selling one million copies, Mac Miller may decide to sign with a major label, like Rostrum Records label-mate, Wiz Khalifa.
