Saigon discusses the State of Hip Hop

For six years, Saigon has been waiting to release his debut album, The Greatest Story Never Told. With the release of the album right around the corner, Saigon is making rounds with the media. Most recently, he talked with SOHH.com.

Saigon discussed with the site the state of the hip hop community and his struggles. He discussed his days with Atlantic Records and how they only let him work with Trey Songz. Saigon announced Trey Songz would be on the album.

The conversation soon shifted to the state of the hip hop community. Saigon is not impressed with how commercial the game has become. He said hip hop is nothing more than promotion for clothing and liquor.

When his music is finally released, Saigon plans on shifting the focus back on the music and away from the business.
