Dr. Dre is a legend in the rap game and he has done everything imaginable in hip hop. The past fifteen years have seen Dre focus on developing talent. So far, his list consists of Eminem, 50 Cent, and Game. Those three have been among the highest selling rappers of the 2000s. While fans love those guys, hardcore hip hop fans want Dr. Dre to drop. He has been teasing his album, Detox, dating back to 2001.
Dr. Dre seems to finally be ready to release the long awaited Detox album. The last time fans thought the album was coming in 2008. Back then, he was working with the likes of Lil Wayne and T.I., according to reports. Nothing ever materialized from those reports. However, this time, Dr. Dre is getting out in the spotlight for himself.
Dr. Dre is in comeback mode and he recently released a new single. Last month, Dr. Dre spoke to Big Boy on Power 106 about his new joint, “Kush.” He said he was a month away from mixing the album, which should now boil down to a few more days. With the lead single, Dre turned to his longtime cohort, Snoop Dogg, who drops a verse, and Akon handles the hook. The video dropped today.
