At the end of 2012, Shawty Lo surprised the world when he came back and went on to dominate headlines for a month. All the commotion was due to him announcing his jump into reality television. Similar to other rappers’ reality shows about their families, nothing like Shawty Lo’s show had ever aired.

Since the title was “All My Babies’ Mamas” and centered around Shawty Lo and the ten mothers of his eleven children, it is likely the series will never air. Many Civil Rights groups spoke out in protest of Shawty Lo’s show, saying it was degrading to the black race. Shawty Lo still made plans to air his series.

Looking back on it, though, Shawty Lo can admit some flaws in his plan. The start of this is the title of the series. Though the phrase is used by some of everyone, the “baby mama/baby daddy” slang term started with black people. In response to the backlash about the show, Shawty Lo spoke out during an interview with Sister 2 Sister.
