Hip hop heads worldwide saw their dreams come true when Young Guru revealed Jay-Z would appear on the remix of Kendrick Lamar’s “Bitch Don’t Kill My Vibe.” When the song came out, it immediately became one of the biggest songs out. Almost immediately, the remix topped Drake’s “Started from the Bottom.”
While Drake changed his own style up a bit, “Bitch Don’t Kill My Vibe” remix was a lyrical dream. On discussion forums all over the internet and in hip hop conversations around the world, everyone is debating on who had the best verse. In every interview he has done on the topic, Kendrick Lamar said he had to come as hard as possible.
On Hot 97, Peter Rosenberg and DJ Cipha Sounds battled it out live on the air. The two went back and forth on which rapper had the hottest verse. Many credit Kendrick Lamar with restoring lyricism to the game, but Jay-Z is also credited by most as one of hip hop’s best rappers ever.
