Mo’Nique was actually the first comedian to speak out, but people laughed at her. When Katt Williams spoke out, the whole world listened. At the same time, Katt Williams put Shannon Sharpe’s “Club Shay Shay” podcast on the map. Shay Shay launched in 2020 and already had many high profile interviews, but none were like Katt. Now, Mo’Nique has people coming to her defense. In addition, she announced she’s now sitting down with Shannon Sharpe.
Mo’Nique once was the most popular comedienne in the world. This was due to “The Parkers” being such a popular show. During that period of time, she was already on The Queens of Comedy tour, paired alongside The Kings of Comedy. Most of the other comedians from both programs made cameo appearances on “The Parkers.” In addition, DL Hughley did a crossover with his sitcom, “The Hughleys,” with “The Parkers.”
Mo’Nique received a lot of bad press for speaking out, early in 2018. However, she stood up for herself, and she called out the people who disrespected her. But her other actions made some lose faith in her overall credibility. All of this went out the window, when Katt Williams gave his controversial interview with Shannon Sharpe.
