DMX addresses “Iylana: Fix My Life” outburst

Over the years, DMX has become known as a “troubled” rapper. Throughout his career, he has gotten into all kinds of scrapes with the law. Most of his hardships have been because of his drug use. Those close to him, including Ja Rule, have expressed their concern over his drug usage.

Coming out of prison in 2011, DMX got himself straight and began working on comeback material. Last September, DMX released Undisputed, his long-awaited comeback album. The album featured Machine Gun Kelly, the lone newer artist he endorses.

Last night, DMX’s episode on OWN’s “Iylana: Fix My Life” came out. In the episode, DMX had an outburst and walked out on Iylana. Due to his past, many felt DMX was living up to the name he built. But, there is more to the story and DMX’s team released a statement about what happened.

Read the statement from DMX’s team below:

“DMX agreed to be a guest on “Iyanla: Fix My Life” with the understanding that she would be helping his relationships with his ten children. When he arrived for the taping, most of the content was focused on his struggles with drugs and poor parenting. Iyanla did not “fix” DMX’s life just made his image worse, and does not have DMX’s personal written consent to use the footage.

What the team does want DMX’s fans to know is that he is working on a new album that will include Swizz Beatz and we hope to also work with Timbaland, Dr. Dre, and Kanye West. Another announcement is his upcoming film “Blame It On The Hustle” Mekhi Phifer and Ving Rhames.”
