She’s Icy! Saweetie Opens Up About Always Getting Racially Profiled By Clerks In These High End Stores

By Prince Hakeem

Bay Area rapper Saweetie is letting these high end clothing stores to never try her when it comes to her Icy game. The ‘My Type’ singer blasted onto the scene with her hit single ‘Up Now’ featuring G-Eazy and Rich the Kid. Ever since then, she’s been living it big with her expensive and high end lifestyle. I mean, she is up right now with a couple of hits, so I’m sure she can afford it.

While those of us in hip hop may be aware of how Icy she likes to be, apparently these high end clothing stores do not. Saweetie recently took to Twitter to vent about constantly being racially profiled by clerks in luxury clothing stores. She detailed how employees would always remind her of the price of the items she’s chose to purchase, verifying what she did for a living, and son. She more or less laughed about having these experiences in her tweets. At this point it isn’t surprising that high end fashion has these racist and prejudicial notions about the black dollar. Her joking sentiments is the exact type of response one should have to such ignorance.
