On Sunday night, the Soul Train Awards filmed live for the very first time. They went all out, having Tichina Arnold and Tisha Campbell host the show. Each performance was electrifying, with Wale completing his comeback, and bringing Kelly Price out to perform.
But, every major event has its drama, and the Soul Train Awards were no different. Weeks ago, Summer Walker spoke out about her social anxiety, only to face ridicule. Knowing her issues, social media still lampooned her, when she had her awkward award acceptance.
Following the show, Ari Lennox vented on Twitter about being snubbed for the R&B/Soul award, which went to Lizzo. Her tweets went mostly overlooked, but her latest venting has not. Now, fans are paying attention, as Ari Lennox is shading Lizzo, and saying she will quit before she sells out.
This has Twitter debating, with some saying Ari Lennox vs. Lizzo is dividing the black community, while others say the only reason Lizzo is winning is because she has the white support, specifically the women and gays.
