In 2013, the world got to know Jay Ellis as Blue, who essentially replaced Pooch Hall’s Derwin, on “The Game.” He and Lauren London were brought in to replace Pooch Hall and Tia Mowry. After “The Game” ended, in 2015, Jay Ellis was cast in Issa Rae’s “Insecure.”
Jay Ellis has since become best-known as Laurence, Issa’s primary love interest, on the show. The discussions on “Insecure” are a part of the real life discusses. This has led to Jay Ellis becoming a household name, but also led to people having expectations of him.
Anyone who watched Jay Ellis’ old interviews know a common question for him was “the right kind of woman.” A few years ago, Jay Ellis found this woman, Nina Senicar, but kept her under the radar. Yesterday, he and Nina revealed they had their baby, and social media began going in on “Laurence” for getting a white woman pregnant, in real life, prompting Jay Ellis to tactfully respond.
