WE WANT FRANK! Knicks fans boo Dennis Smith, Jr. at the Madison Square Garden home opener, and Twitter reacts to them saying they want Frank Ntilikina back [VIDEO]

Suffering years of struggling, the New York Knicks pinned everything on the 2010 free agency. This is when they were supposed to land everything that the Miami Heat landed. Instead, they got Amare Stoudemire and Raymond Felton. Early that season, they were good enough for third.

A midseason trade for Carmelo Anthony, Chauncey Billups, and JR Smith changed dynamics. Meant to make the Knicks instant contenders, they instead barely made the playoffs, only to get swept in the first round. But, better times were ahead, finally.

In 2012, the Knicks finally arrived, getting off to a strong start that would soon cool, as the Knicks only went 54-28, after being on pace for 60 wins. The Celtics gave them more problems than anticipated, after leading them 3-0, and the Indiana Pacers ended their season.

Since then, the Knicks began a consistent slide right into being one of the NBA’s worst teams. Frank Ntilikina is part of the Knicks’ perpetual rebuild, but Dennis Smith, Jr. was the major acquisition. Tonight, the Knicks were competitive with the Celtics, until they weren’t, and things were going bad, right when Smith entered the game to boos, and fans began the “WE WANT FRANK” chant, demanding Ntilikina’s entrance into the game.

Twitter is seeing all of this and they are all laughs for tonight’s game.
