Just like with hip hop, in the mid-2000s, the current discussion is about the state of R&B. While Nas went extreme and killed hip hop, R&B has their new voices claiming king. The evolution of hip hop makes it hard to tell the difference between the rappers and the singers.
New blood in the game, YK Osiris, recently signed with Def Jam, and he released his debut album, last week. Currently, his star is rising, and he crowned himself king of R&B. This followed Jacquees, just a year ago, doing the same thing.
YK Osiris put his crown to the test, when he recently had a concert, where he called a fan on stage. Clearly, she was happy to be up there with YK Osiris, and she showed it. Usually down for whatever, this woman backed YK Osiris into the figurative wall, forcing him to look for the exits, when she made a play for his pants.
