Lyfe Jennings talks new music, lyrics, and where R&B has gone on “The Breakfast Club” [VIDEO]

Five years ago, when August Alsina was having his run, many people praised him for his gritty lyrics. Some even said he was redefining R&B, as a whole. But, there were also others, Jaheim, and Lyfe Jennings, especially.

Younger fans may primarily know him for “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta,” where he appeared in 2016-2017, as Karlie Redd’s man. That didn’t last very long, as many realize. Karlie’s antics, including the fake passing out, was too much for Lyfe, who has a totally different style.

Lyfe Jennings stopped by “The Breakfast Club” and he sat down with the trio of DJ Envy, Angela Yee, and Charlamagne Tha God. In the interview, he spoke on his new music, including the Charlamagne dustup, at the beginning of the interview. He discussed the project, his lyrics, and the current state of R&B.
