Justin Timberlake announces upcoming work with Lizzo and Meek Mill; Twitter accuses the “Man of the Woods” of having a flop album, and going back to appropriating the black culture, profiting off black people

A major appeal Justin Timberlake has had is his ability to make music that falls right into the hip hop category. The Memphis singer went solo, in 2002, and immediately began working with Timbaland. Together, they created such classics as “Cry Me A River.”

Justin Timberlake and Pharrell also made for quite the duo, as JT began working with the hip hop world. During his 2013 return, he formed an alliance with Jay-Z. That year saw them create two classic records, “Suit & Tie,” and “Holy Grail.”

After his 2013-2014 run, fans wanted Justin Timberlake to return, which he did with his Michael Jackson collaboration, and 2017’s “Can’t Stop The Feeling” single. But, last year, he offered his new album, nothing like his previous work, Man of the Woods, which alienated his hip hop fans. A recent interview showed JT going back to his old style.

A recent interview with Entertainment Tonight saw Justin Timberlake mentioning his work with Meek Mill and Lizzo. It was that interview that sparked the discussion on Twitter, where fans are going in on Justin Timberlake for trying to cross back over into hip hop. This is something fans are used to artists not exactly from the culture doing, coming in and making black music as they feel, crossing over the same way.
