Lil Nas X Wins Award For “Song Of The Year” At #VMAs For “Old Town Road” Remix With Billy Ray Cyrus

Lil Nas X was heading into the VMAs tonight with eight nominations and just took home one of the biggest awards. He just took home “Song Of The Year” featuring country legend, Billy Ray Cyrus. Nas X beat out Drake, Ariana Grande, Jonas Brothers, Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper, and Taylor Swift.

Old Town Road remix made history has the longest-running single atop the Billboard Hot 100 this year as it lasted for 19 weeks. It broke Mariah Carey’s record which was 16. The song was her ballad with Boyz II Men, “One Sweet Day” back in 1995.

Nas X soon released his debut EP “7” this summer shortly after Old Town Road’s success. This project had another hidden gem with the song “Panini.”
