A young woman, a mother, is dead, and she had her whole life ahead of her. But, as any mother would, Chakita Jones died protecting her children. On Friday, April 23, police in Fayetteville, North Carolina were called to Danish Drive, with reports of a shooting.
When law enforcement arrived to the home of Chakita Jones, they found her unresponsive. Clearly, Jones had been shot, and it was not looking good for her. Ultimately, she would die from this gunshot wound, leading her family to look for answers.
The family has set up a GoFundMe page for Chakita Jones’ funeral expenses and for her children, seven that she leaves behind. An investigation has begun into her shooting, as Jones died on August 24 at the UNC Medical Center. Sadly, this young woman with much to offer the world, is no longer here for her family, or children.
