Marvel’s first Black Panther film was released in February of last year and was an immediate success as the anticipation for the film was built for months. Black Panther featured a star-studded cast such as Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Angela Bassett, Danai Gurira, Daniel Kalyuuya, and Letitia Wright. The soundtrack was also one to remember as it featured Kendrick Lamar, SZA, Future, The Weeknd, Travis Scott, and more.
The question about when the sequel would arrive and many thought that’d be answered are San Diego’s Comic-Con. The release date has now just came at Disney’s D23 Expo event. Marvel and director Ryan Coogler have set a May 6, 2022 date for Black Panther 2. The scripts have already been in progress.

“We’re really hard at work on it trying to give you something special,” said Ryan Coogler. “We’re gonna take our time; we want it to be right.”
The first Black Panther film generated $1.347 billion worldwide and is the ninth highest-grossing film of all-time. It’s definitely one of Marvel’s best films to date. With the long wait for 2022, the sequel should do even better when its time for the release.
