Continuously, Jay-Z shows his prowess and savvy, as a businessman, and this shows with his NFL deal. However, since the 2015 launch of his streaming service, TIDAL, Jay has emphasized that he is a BLACK businessman. With that, he’s claimed to have made major concessions.
Number one, Jay-Z sided hugely with Colin Kaepernick, having countless conversations with him. Also, Jay-Z has spoken up for him interviews, and even had players kneeling in the “APESH!T” video. But, he still did a deal with the NFL.
The deal is with Roc Nation, for NFL entertainment, but many still view it as a slap in the face. Activist, Shaun King, called Jay-Z all the way out for his contradictory actions. Tons of people agreed, even Rihanna, who liked his IG post, weeks after she unfollowed Roc Nation and TIDAL, on her own Instagram.
