Nobody can do a clapback quite like Nicki Minaj. When she goes in, she goes all the way in, and some people have pointed that out as one of her flaws. Tonight, Nicki Minaj sent a subliminal response to longtime rival, Azealia Banks, using #BlackGirlTragic.

Nicki Minaj would also use the same hashtag to target a female fan, who questioned her relationship with Kenneth Petty, her alleged husband. The #BlackGirlTragic hashtag appears to be a play on the popular #BlackGirlMagic hashtag. There is much more to it, though.

While Nicki Minaj probably just intended for a clever play of words, she sparked something huge on Twitter. Most women say her just flipping “magic” with “tragic” was horrible, within itself, but #BlackGirlTragic is a hashtag, already. That hashtag is used for missing black women and her using it to defend her man, with a questionable past, has Nicki facing tons of backlash.
