Early this year, Avant turned heads with the shocking amount of weight he lost. Back in 2016, Avant had the opposite impact on people, when they saw how much weight he gained. Clearly, Avant was trying to lose weight, but he looked frail, during his performance.
Soon, there were rumors circulating that Avant had Lupus and was given six months to live. Despite such a grim outlook, Avant never mentioned it on his own social media. Quite the opposite, he was continuing to promote his new music, and upcoming shows.
Avant has since done his media rounds, stopping by Radio 103.9, in NY to speak on his career and upcoming work. Since then, Snopes has done an investigation into the origins of the Avant story. While the weight loss is real, the disease rumors are fake, spread by hoax sites, that have a small disclaimer saying their stories are only for entertainment.
