Chris Brown Accused of Not Paying Child Support; Nia Guzman Seeking Over $250K Payment

By Prince Hakeem

It looks like all isn’t well in the personal life of Chris Brown.

The R&B superstar is facing some trouble from his mother’s child, Nia Guzman. She alleges that Brown hasn’t been keeping up with his child support payments. So now she’s turning to the courts for assistance. According to court documents, Guzman – who is the mother of 5-year-old Royalty – claims that Brown was to pacy $17,743 back in February.

Guzman states that Chris, “has repeatedly engaged in conduct that dramatically increased the cost of litigation. He has ignored deposition notices, offered to participate in mediation in a court hearing then failed to even respond to potential mediation dates when proposed, and ignored settlement offers altogether.” She also goes on to state that his negligence has caused her  “a great hardship” because she does not work and relies on the support from him.

In total, Guzman is seeking $258,285.24 in back support (which includes retroactive support from the beginning of the case) plus sanctions and “the value of housing that [Brown] agreed to supply.”
