In 2018, David Lee captured the ears and eyes of Republic Records with his outstanding single “Mattress,” and its charming pajama attired video. What really took his stardom to new heights was having the city backing him by building a massive following through his lyricism and relatable persona. Giving fans something new, yet familiar. The fresh face emerging artist knows how to balance his vocals over a variety of rhythms and melodies which was proven when he dropped his gem collaborative track “Two,” with OhGeesy of L.A.’s ShorelineMafia, which has over 1 million YouTube views in less than three weeks.

Following up with his soaring singles, David Lee has come with a 6-track project titled, Way Of Volume 1 that’s holding weight. The recent release includes two features from Desiigner on the fifth track, “Girlfriend” and Jay Gwuapo on the second “Cry Me A River.” This new project highlights the crooner’s love life, fashion sense, with the inclusion of a few classic samples. A standout record on the project is Lee’s “Cry Me A River” featuring Jay Gwuapo where he samples and adds his twist on Justin Timberlake and Timbaland’s 2002 hit single, “Cry Me A River” beat.
