Officially, this is the worst era in Lakers history, as it’s been seven seasons since the team made the playoffs. A year ago, some sports fans thought the Lakers would be contenders, again. That was due to the promising roster adding LeBron James, but it backfired.
Throughout the season, there were rumors of midseason trades that would land the Lakers another star. Among the rumored were the likes of Kawhi Leonard and Anthony Davis. But, with Leonard competing for a title, he seems likely to stay in Toronto.
Anthony Davis, meanwhile, has visibly been upset, as his Pelicans only made two postseason appearances in seven seasons with him. Last season seemed promising, but only yielded more disappointment. Now, the Pelicans are reportedly looking to shop AD, with rumors suggesting he will be a Laker, before the week is out.
