#SexStrike, led by Alyssa Milano, rises on Twitter, in response to the abortion laws passed in Georgia and Ohio, but Milano faces backlash from the activists over her extreme stance

Ohio has longtime been a political battleground state, responsible for determining the presidency, in 2004. While the state may have shifted from that role, it remains controversial. On the other hand, Georgia shifted into battleground territory, last year.

Stacey Abrams had a hand in putting Georgia on the political map. She was given no chance at the governorship, but ended up running a very close campaign. In the end, Abrams came within a point of winning the election, which would have made her the first female black governor.

Ultimately, Abrams would lose to Brian Kemp, who would sign a controversial abortion “heartbeat bill,” alongside Ohio governor, Mike DeWine, both elected on the same night. Many are upset by this bill and taking the states of Georgia and Ohio to task. Alyssa Milano is taking it personally, calling on a #SexStrike, since the male governors are telling women what to do with their bodies, she is telling women to keep it to themselves, as a result.
