For most, prom night is the first night of independence. Kids who are approaching adulthood begin to spread their wings. This is one thing parents usually allow their children to do, with no hesitation.
However, any good parent does have a slate of ground rules for their children. Especially parents with children under seventeen, the rule is to be home by curfew. The others are to behave and NO ALCOHOL, as this is the time when accidents happen, not just by vehicle, also lifelong, altering, changes.
Unfortunately for Kaden, a fifteen year old girl from Kentucky, she followed all of her mom’s rules. Her mother, Carlitha Graham, told her to be home by midnight, and she was. When she was getting out of her car, she was hit by a speeding jeep, leaving her mother to believe she died, but when police arrived on the scene, they told her she was alive.
Carlitha Graham would learn that the people who hit her daughter were drunk drivers, describing their impact on her throwing Kaden the length of a football field. Kaden indeed did survive and is expected to make a full recovery, despite a broken pelvis, and having her femur replaced by a metal rod. She will have to learn to walk, again.
