Nipsey Hussle’s sister Samantha Smith has been looking to receive temporary guardianship of his daughter Emani Asghedom this week but according to The Blast, she was denied by a judge today. Should she have been approved, Smith would’ve gotten an emergency order which would’ve granted the guardianship.
The denied ruling stated “No urgency demonstrated for granting this relief prior to hearing on May 14th.” The judge also added that the child’s mother, Tanisha, (Nipsey’s baby mama) had to be given notice of this move and that didn’t happen. Smith’s original defense of why she should be taking care of Emani is because she’s “always been a presence in Emani’s life and along with the rest of Emani’s paternal family assisting in her care.”
In addition to Smith believing that she’s the right fit for Emani, sources close to The Blast say that Nipsey’s family doesn’t believe that Tanisha can provide a stable environment for the child. Expect Smith to still take further steps to try to get custody of Nip’s daughter. Hopefully things work out in the end in the best interest of his daughter. Long live Nipsey forever.
