The Milwaukee Bucks are a team that has consistently gotten better, becoming perennial playoff contenders. But, being a fringe playoff team, only winning 42-44 games meant little expectations. Coming into the season, Jason Kidd had high expectations for his team, though.
With LeBron James signing with the Lakers, the East was wide open, and people assumed it was Toronto vs. Boston, Kawhi Leonard facing off with a healthy Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward. Instead, they all took a back seat to Giannis, who put on an MVP performance.
Granted it’s only the first round, but Giannis dominated the Detroit Pistons, who have had Blake Griffin playing with all he had. Tonight, he played out, as Giannis dunked on Thon Maker and then blocked Ish Smith, while shooting eight more free throws than the Pistons’ entire squad. Both Blake Griffin and the Pistons fans are hugely pissed about that.
