Last year, the Philadelphia 76ers made the playoffs for the first time in six years. Even with their strong 52-30 record, the young Sixers were expected to have a hard time against the Miami Heat. After blowing Game 2, it really did look that way.
Instead, Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid came into their own, with veteran, JJ Redick, leading the show. That, along with Marco Belinelli playing strong, gave Philly an easy 4-1 win. This season, the Sixers were expected to make quick work of the Brooklyn Nets.
However, Game 1 saw D’Angelo Russell come into his own, as the Nets cruised to an easy win. Yeah, Joel Embiid is playing through injury, but this is going to be a tough series. With Joel Embiid out, tonight, and having Greg Monroe starting in his place has Sixers fans on Twitter majorly upset.
