This evening, Nipsey Hussle was murdered in his hometown of Los Angeles in front of his The Marathon Clothing store. He was reportedly shot six times. This was another act of senseless gun violence and adds Nipsey to the list of talented rappers who’ve had their life cut short. He will be regarded as a west coast legend.
Golden State Warriors all-star Stephen Curry spoke on Hussle following his team’s 137-90 blowout win over the Charlotte Hornets at home. During the game, him and teammate Draymond Green paid homage to Hussle by dancing to one of his songs as it was played in Oracle Arena. Following the big win, he had the upmost praise for Hussle.
Curry said that he finally got to meet Hussle last year and had a great conversation with him. He mentioned how what he stood for, his message, and how he inspired people turned into something very powerful. Curry offered prayers to his community, his girlfriend Lauren London and the rest of his family as well.
Nipsey’s death has definitely hit the hip-hop community hard as we lost one of the most solid people in the game. Hopefully the person/people who committed this murder will be brought to justice soon. Until then, Nipsey’s songs will always be on repeat and his legacy will live forever.
