This afternoon, very sad news hit, as Nipsey Hussle, viewed by most as everybody’s favorite rapper, was shot. The shooting wound up being fatal, as the Crenshaw rapper succumbed to his injuries. Worst of all, his life was taken in front of his child, in front of his business.

Nipsey Hussle was far more than a rapper, he was a grown man, meaning father and husband above all else. After that, he was a businessman, determined to build businesses throughout the city. His business efforts caught the attention of Jay-Z, among others.

During the promo run for Victory Lap, his long-awaited debut album, Nipsey Hussle spoke on his real goals in life. This is when the world truly learned how intelligent Nipsey Hussle was, as he often spoke on black history, black-owned businesses, investing, investing in the ‘hoods of America, and cryptocurrency. In many ways, the man was ahead of his time.

Since just last year, Nipsey Hussle has left memorable interviews on “The Breakfast Club,” “Ebro In The Morning,” “The Cruz Show,” “Big Boy In The Morning,” Real 92.3, Hot 97, Power 106, and Angie Martinez. Wise enough to know his strengths and weaknesses, Nipsey turned down Straight Outta Compton, when Snoop Dogg wanted Nip to play his role. Thankfully, Nipsey Hussle left enough gems for a lifetime, as now that will have to hold the world.

Twitter is pouring out tons of support for Nipsey Hussle, his memory, his wife, Lauren London, the kids, and also questioning the timing of this shooting, with his Dr. Sebi documentary soon to premiere.
