“Empire” is recasting the character of Jamal Lyon, Jussie Smollett’s character, according to reports #Empire

In 2015, the world was just getting to know Jussie Smollett, and they loved him. This was season one of “Empire,” a show that premiered midseason, and put up historic ratings. Season one was about the popular music family dealing with personal issues.

As Lucious (Terrence Howard) was taking the Empire company public, he had to deal with his son, Jamal (Smollett) wanting to come out of the closet. Due to business, Lucious continued forcing Jamal to stay in the closet, or he’d stop paying his bills. Fans fell for Jamal and Jussie.

But, since Jamal Lyon came out, he hasn’t had much of a storyline, aside from being shot. That has left Smollett’s character going back and forth between being depressed and being a drug addict. Now, with the stunt that Jussie Smollett pulled, in real life, word is that “Empire” is looking to recast him.
