R. Kelly was arrested last week a day after his CBS interview with Gayle King after failing to meet the deadline to pay $161k in child support to ex-wife Andrea Kelly. He was able to get out after someone helped him raise the funds for the bail.
R. Kelly is now addressing why he wasn’t paying child support to Andrea. According to TMZ, Kelly is maintaining his stance that Andrea brainwashed their three kids into thinking he’s a bad person. He also claims that he’s been trying to have a relationship with his kids.
R. Kelly has been legally obligated to pay her $20,833 per month since January 2009. However, he struggled to keep up with that last year. The two also supposedly almost got into a physical fight in 2017 and that’s when Andrea cut off all communication between him and the kids.
