Allegations of sexual abuse have followed R. Kelly for over twenty years. The first time the courts got involved was 2001, following an alleged sextape. None of this stopped the Chicago musician from continuing to make hit records.
R. Kelly, actually, made some of his best music, while he was facing charges. In the end, the cases against R. Kelly were dismissed, and he went back to making hits. To begin 2019, R. Kelly was the subject of a documentary, “Surviving R. Kelly,” bringing the allegations back to life.
Protests and fights have ensued, since R. Kelly was the subject of the docu-series. Now, the courts are back involved, given all the publicity he has gotten. The singer is now being charged with ten counts of sexual abuse.
