This whole Gucci controversy brought Dapper Dan further into the spotlight. The popular designer has gotten a lot of acclaim, over the past few years, for his designs. Seeing how people love controversy, they wanted Dapper Dan’s take on Gucci’s blackface sweater.

By design, blackface is controversial, and it will never stop being controversial. Many fans wanted to see Dapper Dan’s take and he was disgusted, like all the rest. The renewed interest in his work led to him giving a report on his history.

Last night, Dapper Dan shared the above photo, along with a photo of Jay-Z. This was him giving credit to the ones who helped him, citing Hov and Wu-Tang Clan for coming through for him. He said those people helped establish him, following being played by struggling rappers who bought his clothes on credit, but never paid him, once they made their money.
