Since 2004, Lil Wayne has consistently pushed to be an “outside the box” rapper. At a time when the South wasn’t even considered “real” hip hop, Wayne called himself the “best rapper alive.” When he was viewed as a real contender, Wayne said he was a rockstar.
Matching that energy, Lil Wayne dropped a rock-themed album, and continued dominating the charts. The New Orleans rapper has come a long way, expanding his style each time. Wayne traded in the white tees, not completely, for the rockstar look.
At this Clemson/Alabama National Championship game, Lil Wayne was a halftime performer, alongside Imagine Dragons. When Wayne took the stage, Twitter was set off. Fans said Wayne’s performance was horrible, trashing his effort, and then had tons of jokes about his outfit, comparing it to the woman on Home Alone 2.
