Chris Brown Faces Six Months In Jail For Not Having Permit To Own Pet Monkey

Chris Brown is running into some legal issues again as this time, he could be facing six months in jail. According to US Magazine, Brown is facing facing two misdemeanor counts of possession of a restricted species without a permit for owning his pet capuchin monkey named Fiji.

Court documents obtained by US Magazine state that they were filed on December 10 and an initial investigation by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife on if Brown did have possession of the monkey lasted from October 2017-January 2018. TMZ also added that Brown voluntarily gave up the monkey before authorities raided his house.

Brown’s court appearance will be on February 6. Depending on how strict California’s laws are regarding owning monkeys, jail time could be a big possibility. If not, the court could probably let Brown get another chance to get the right documentation for the animal.
