This year, Xzibit saw an abrupt end to his time on “Empire.” In 2016, he joined the cast as an enemy from Lucious’ (Terrence Howard) past. His character, Shine, immediately clashed with Andre (Trai Byers), but bonded with Hakeem (Bryshere “Yazz” Gray).

At the end of last season, Xzibit’s Shine was killed, after Lucious set him up, by asking him to kill Eddie (Forrest Whitaker). In the end, he was set up, Shine was dead, and Xzibit was out of work. Now, he is using his time to record a new album.

Xzibit stopped by “The Breakfast Club,” talking to DJ Envy, Angela Yee, and Charlamagne Tha God. When he came in, X discussed his loyalty to the West Coast and “Pimp My Ride.” The veteran rapper also discussed the new album he is working on.
