Lil Wayne’s Team Says #CarterV September 21 Release Date Was All Hype As No Official Date Was Ever Mentioned

Fans were heavily disappointed when midnight hit on September 21 and there were no signs of Lil Wayne’s Carter V album on any streaming outlets. This led many to believe if Wayne really had control of releasing his music.

Wayne’s team is finally speaking out about the speculation on when the fifth Carter album will finally be released. Sources close to them said to TMZ that the September 21 release date was all hype and speculation and that no official release date was ever locked in.

What was confirmed by Wayne’s team is the official cover art. There have been different album covers floating around such as the one with the hand throwing up a five but the official one is a roman numeral V with a black and red color scheme.

The September 21 release date had all the signs of happening as earlier that day, many notable names had posted the album cover such as Floyd Mayweather, James Harden, Kobe Bryant, and even Wayne’s daughter Reginae. The most likely scenario now would be the Carter V album being a surprise release and not have an official date.
