In a relatively short period of time, Cardi B has gone from being a mixtape rapper to being one of the biggest names in the industry. Going by official stats, she has been 2018’s third biggest rapper. She only trails Drake and Post Malone.
Cardi B came into 2018 with a ton of pressure on her to surpass her 2017 breakout year. She is the rare exception that won MVP in her rookie year and she only got better. Knocks were that her second single only popped because of the first one and she only has features.
During the spring of 2018, Cardi B dropped “Be Careful” and it was one of the summer’s first hits. When summer actually hit, “I Like It” put Cardi back on top of the game. After doing her thing, at the VMAs, Cardi B has eight nominations for the American Music Awards.
