Last year, Nicki Minaj began making her return to music, in a landscape where Remy Ma was poised to take over. Following months of people trying to instigate, they finally got Remy and Nicki to go at each other. It was an epic beef, but not even the biggest moment in female rap.
When all that was going on, Cardi B was on “Love & Hip Hop,” but she signed with Atlantic Records. All along, she was dropping her music, but nobody was really paying her attention. By the time the summer hit, she was the biggest name in music, all genres.
Nicki Minaj and Cardi B were soon pit against each other. This is something Nicki Minaj mentioned in her Apple Music exclusive. But, in her TIDAL exclusive, she went more in-depth, explaining she and Cardi spoke at Met Gala, promising to not beef over BS, and Nicki then spoke on how people keep pitting her against female rappers every two years, and, at this point, she has no competition.
