Coming into this QUEEN album run, it feels like a lot of people are really trying to play Nicki Minaj. A lot of people are acting like she hasn’t had a hit every year for nearly ten years. Not even just hip hop hits, she has a serious pop crossover appeal.
Much of this is due to Cardi B coming out and making hit records of her own. But, there is more than enough room for two women, especially women of color, to have success. There is absolutely nothing stopping a successful Nicki Minaj album, besides people being ignorant.
Nicki Minaj already posted a big hit, with “Chun-Li,” to kick the summer off, and now she has more in store. A track listing for QUEEN has dropped, which people are speculating is real or not. It includes features from Lauryn Hill, Beyonce, Rihanna, and Kendrick Lamar.
