Business is business, but the Toronto Raptors did DeMar DeRozan dirty. Just two years ago, the Raptors were worried about DeRozan leaving for the Lakers, in free agency. But, DeMar DeRozan had a conversation with Kyle Lowry, and both stayed.
The past three years, DeMar DeRozan has led the Raptors to three straight 50-win seasons. Two of the three seasons saw the Raptors set new franchise records for wins. In 2016, they even got within two games of the NBA Finals.
Still, DeMar DeRozan ended up traded to the Spurs for Kawhi Leonard, who is a proven champion. But, DeMar DeRozan made the memories up in Toronto, and he promised to always be there. Yesterday, he gave his thank yous to the city of Toronto and to the Raptors’ FANS.
