It’s wild that Outkast hasn’t put out any music since 2006. Both members say label politics have kept them from making any music together. While Andre 3000 has mostly stayed out of the spotlight, his other half, Big Boi, has focused on his solo career.
Since 2010, Big Boi has established himself as a solo act. The Atlanta rapper recently appeared in the film, Superfly, starring Trevor Jackson, where the two had some intense scenes. Early this year, Big Boi had a recurring role on BET’s “The Quad.”
Big Boi would briefly speak to Hip-HopVibe.com on the Superfly premiere red carpet. During the interview, Alex Jackson asked him about J. Cole’s new album. It was clear Big Boi wasn’t here for that, but he was all about his own new work, the Boomiverse album and Superfly, and telling her to “talk to Jesus” about Outkast reuniting.
