Activists have come down hard on R. Kelly and, for the most part, their efforts have been successful. All the talk about R. Kelly, and his past, has led to some of his shows being cancelled. A change in Spotify’s terms and conditions led to his music being pulled from playlists.
Despite R. Kelly’s checkered past, many fans are torn about what’s happening to him. But, 50 Cent directly spoke up for R. Kelly, saying he hasn’t been convicted of anything, so his music shouldn’t be pulled. But, a lot of fans have only supported him more, since then.
R. Kelly has continued to say that he will show up wherever the fans want him to be. With that, the bookings he’s been able to maintain, he’s held onto those, and performed. Now, the fans are coming through for him, as his streaming numbers have increased, since the Spotify ban.
