For years, it’s been said that J. Cole doesn’t get the respect that he deserves. Often, he is overshadowed by the latest Drake hit, even though he’s going platinum with no features. When the spring of 2018 came, J. Cole was again overshadowed.

Before “The Kanye West Show,” Cardi B, Nicki Minaj, and Drake, of course were all of the talk. In the middle of all of that, J. Cole dropped his KOD album. Not only has the album been a critical success, but it is also a commercial success.

The commercial appeal is showing, as J. Cole made history today. He has become the number one artist in the country. Jumping to number one on the Billboard Artist 100 chart, J. Cole has risen all the way from number 96.
