It’s really hard to not like Drake, especially when he keeps doing stuff like this. Definitely, BlocBoy JB had momentum, but Drake jumping on his “Look Alive” record definitely changed things. The Toronto rapper left a line that social media loves, on the hook for that song.
Now, Drake has hearkened back to an era that some critics have claimed “killed” hip hop. But, the D4L brought new life into hip hop, and made having fun cool again. Key in this was Fabo, who told HHV about that era, in a 2014 interview he did with us.
But, Fabo isn’t a name that instantly comes to mind, but Drake has him trending on Twitter. His new single, “Nice For What,” not only samples the classic Lauryn Hill record, “Ex-Factor,” but he shouts Fabo out in the bridge. Now, Fabo is getting all kinds of love and support on Twitter, which he deserves.
