People can say what they will about Birdman, but he runs his label just like the majors do. The only difference is that Birdman is the face of his label, so people tie him, personally, to the business. But, even with the drama with Lil Wayne, he kept Drake and Nicki Minaj on the label.
With people acting like Cash Money was over, Drake was still making hit records. All of the stuff with Drake is via Wayne’s Young Money, but the main label welcomed Derez De’Shon on the roster. Late last year, he took over radio with “Hardaway,” his breakthrough single.
